Best yet is to do what I’ve done with my 4 indoors, replace the dry food treats with a few ONE INGREDIENT FREEZE DRIED like chicken liver (dog treat) or salmon…
Canned foods to AVOID are meals, byproducts or grains. Everything else my cats tolerate, most like my home cooking, the one who doesn’t likes meat baby food and they all love sardines and chicken, tuna and salmon, human grade canned. They are all always perfect weight at 7-9 years old. And I stay away from vets since they were fixed and rabies. Only one emergency which led me to learn and leave the dry food.
I stopped feeding my cat dry food because it was attracting bugs because they eat it throughout the day and it sits there. Wet food, i put a scoop and she eats it in one sitting. No food sitting out, no bugs lol. She doesn’t even miss the dry food
I give my cats wet food twice a day with a scoop of water extra 😅 and dry food there for them during the day but not much
