Make your own SCRATCHING POST

Create your own scratching posts for your cats at home. Scratching is a natural and healthy behavior for the cats we share our homes with. Giving them places to scratch that aren’t your couch can help make you both happy.

For this project I used natural fiber sisal rope, a few staples, and a hammer. This technique can also be used for rewrapping an existing scratching post or cat tower you already have that has a lot of wear.

  3. thank you very much for this instructional video, i’m literally about to go out and buy the supplies i need to do it tonight for my kitty, peony! i was having trouble trying to find a good vertical scratcher that’s heavy enough to not tip over, but which also wasn’t expensive. i hope she likes it, it’s for her nail health, she doesn’t ever scratch furniture. your kitties are so sweet!
